Our locations

Geitmyra Oslo

On the unique Geitmyra farm, located in the heart of Oslo, we have three teaching kitchens, hens, bees, to cats, planter boxes, a greenhouse, compost, a smokehouse, a lavvu, a baking oven, an insect hotel, an educational kitchen garden, and a large plot in the Geitmyra school garden where we grow vegetables. We have classes every day throughout the school year, and over 4,000 children from Oslo schools visit us each year. We offer various courses, after-school programs, and big family food festivals.

Geitmyra Kristiansand

On the island Odderøya ouside Kristiansand, you'll find Geitmyra Kristiansand. It's impossible not to notice the fish bursting through the roof. And that's precisely what it's all about here: seafood. Children get to explore the coastline, visit the fish market, and learn to like and love fish and seafood.

Geitmyra Ringsaker

Ringsaker is in the heart of the food basket! Situated in Innlandet - the country's largest agricultural region. We take the region's identity, history, and future seriously. We offer weekly classes in food and health for schoolclasses, food courses for children and youth, and arrange several open events throughout the year. We have planter boxes, hens, and a fantastic greenhouse where we teach cultivation. We collaborate with local producers and aim to recruit more people to the food industry.

Geitmyra Tønsberg

Through one week of class, children in Tønsberg will delve into 10,000 years of food culture - in Norway's oldest city. Here, we teach children history through culinary traditions from different eras, using methods like cooking pits, open fires and exotic spices that arrived centuries ago. We collaborate closely with the food industry and producers in Vestfold and Telemark to learn more about a significant and vital part of Norwegian food production.

Geitmyra Greenhouse (Oslo)

The greenhouse at Geitmyra School Garden is bursting with children, curiosity, knowledge, flavors, life, food, strange smells, and exciting experiences. Here, we extend the growing season and welcome many more children into the school garden. The greenhouse serves as a gathering place and an accessible space for children, youth, and families through cooking classes, growing workshops, and open public events where all of Oslo can learn more about food, ecology, sustainability, cultivation, and the origins of food.

Geitmyra Junior Chefs at Mathallen (Oslo)

Since 2020, Geitmyra has trained over 120 junior chefs, equipping them with hands-on culinary skills and expert guidance from chefs and educators at the Geitmyra Food Culture Center. Many have landed jobs at youth and sports clubs, while others have taken on catering gigs through Geitmyra. They've cooked and served for the King, made lentil soup with Bill Gates, and even stood in as a guest chef on Good Morning, Norway.

We know that young people can and want to work, so why not give them their own kitchen and a big responsibility?

Geitmyra Junior Chefs is a catering company that delivers delicious and sustainable food for both small and large events – whether you need meeting snacks or are planning a festival.
